Innovation for Change: Startup Challenge" is a practical program for middle school to senior high school students that empowers them to develop sustainable business solutions with a social impact. Working in groups, students will design products or services that address environmental and social issues while collaborating with NGOs, charities, or foundations to support their causes. The program emphasizes real-world application, guiding students from concept to execution, with opportunities to create promotional materials and present their business proposals.

Program Structure:

  1. Registration Period (January 2025)
  2. Kick-off Workshop (January 25, 2024):

    • Introduction to the program’s goals and sustainable social entrepreneurship.
    • Workshops led by Google volunteers on project management and digital tools.
  3. Group Formation and Ideation (February 2025):

    • Students form groups and brainstorm ideas for products or services that address social and environmental challenges.
    • Identification of potential NGO or charity partners.
  4. NGO Collaboration Outreach (February 2025):

    • Groups reach out to NGOs, charities, or foundations to propose collaborations.
    • Google mentors provide guidance on proposal writing and partnership building.
  5. Project Development and Marketing (February 2025):

    • Groups develop their products or services and create promotional materials (posters, videos, etc.).
    • Google volunteers conduct workshops on digital marketing and sustainable business practices.
  6. Business Proposal and Promotion (February 2025 ):

    • Groups finalize their business proposals and promotional materials.
    • Presentation to a panel of judges, including Google volunteers.
  7. Final Presentation and Judging (March 1, 2025):

    • Virtual showcase where teams present their business proposals and promotional materials.
    • Judging by Google volunteers, with awards for the best projects.
  8. Post-Program Support:

    • Select teams receive continued mentorship or access to resources for further development.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Practical Skills: Students will gain experience in sustainable business development and social entrepreneurship.
  • Impactful Collaborations: Successful partnerships with NGOs or charities, leading to meaningful community and environmental impact.
